AVEVA, an industrial software company, marked its presence at London Tech Week (LTW) 2024 with two significant announcements: the release of its 2023 Sustainability Progress Report and the first edition of the AVEVA Industrial Intelligence Index.

The 2023 Sustainability Progress Report highlighted AVEVA’s commitment to environmental stewardship, ethical practices and fostering an inclusive workplace. This year’s edition marked a shift to calendar year reporting, showcasing progress across three key pillars.

Technology Handprint: AVEVA emphasizes the positive impact its software can have on customer sustainability efforts. Initiatives include the green new logo program supporting clean tech activities, new case studies quantifying emissions reduction, and hackathons generating sustainable technology ideas. Notably, AVEVA launched a Sustainability Accelerator program to advance sustainability solutions within its product portfolio and partner ecosystem. Furthermore, 31% of AVEVA’s software now includes built-in power consumption measurement technology.

Operational Footprint: Significant strides were made towards AVEVA’s 2025 ESG targets. The company achieved a 93% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions through renewable energy procurement, fleet reduction with a focus on hybrid and electric vehicles, and decreased business travel emissions. Upstream emissions also saw a decline, with a 36% decrease in purchased goods and services and a 49% reduction in business travel emissions (surpassing their 20% target). Regarding e-waste, AVEVA surpassed its 2025 goal by diverting 22.75 tons from landfills in 2023.

Inclusive Culture: Diversity and inclusion remain a priority for AVEVA. They achieved significant increases in female representation across various levels – 39.9% of new hires, 29% of managers, and 26.5% of leaders are women. They aim to reach 50% female new hires, 40% female managers, and 30% female leaders by 2030. Pay equity stands at 0.5%, demonstrating their commitment to equal pay. Additionally, AVEVA donated £310,000 to causes supported by employee communities and launched the AVEVA Scholars Program in the US, partnering with Historically Black Colleges and Universities to provide scholarships and immersive experiences for engineering and computer science students.

AVEVA also unveiled its inaugural Industrial Intelligence Index. This annual report aims to equip C-suite executives and decision-makers with actionable insights into leveraging industrial intelligence for success in the digital age. Based on research with 500 global industry leaders, the report provides valuable information for the power, manufacturing, infrastructure, and chemicals sectors. It dives into macro trends, case studies showcasing successful digitalization initiatives, and strategies for driving innovation and efficiency towards a more sustainable future.
