The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has reversed the appointment of Atiku Ibrahim as the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly. He has been replaced by Engr. Bashir Aminu Yero.
This decision followed an emergency meeting of the commission on Tuesday.
The NASC, in a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information, Mr Emmanuel Anyigor, on Tuesday, disclosed that the commission has appointed Atiku, the erstwhile Director of Finance and Supplies in the House of Representatives, as the Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement and Supplies.
Meanwhile, the former Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement and Supplies, Engr. Liman Baba Sanda, has been redeployed as the Secretary of Estate and Works.
The appointments and redeployments take effect from 2 February 2025.
The statement continued: “In their respective appointment letters signed by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi, [it was] noted that the elevations and redeployment were in recognition of their hard work and administrative competence and therefore enjoined them to uphold the confidence reposed in them.”
