Nigeria’s most prolific author and the Shepherd of the Locust Army International Ministry, Rev. Chris Christian, has added 12 new books to the 430 titles he had published before now, making it a total of 442 books published so far. The new books were presented at the annual convention of Locust Army International Ministry, held at its Ajah, Lagos, church premises. The convention drew participants from all over Nigeria and abroad, where the ministry has branches, with senior pastors and church workers and other members of the congregation in attendance.
In his sermon, Rev. Chris Christian blamed immorality and poor academic performance in school on bad parental upbringing, challenging Nigerian parents to bring up their children to be morally and academically sound to face the challenges of tomorrow.
He said: “May your children not be wounded when you are alive.
When you send your children to school, it’s not the school that trains them. It is you. What they learn from school is secondary. If his home doesn’t give him good morals, the school is not going to do that. I have taught in schools. I am speaking from observation and not revelation.
“A child who is not properly trained does not have confidence. When she meets other properly trained children, he loses her confidence. A child who’s not properly trained doesn’t sit in front of the class. It is not possible for the best student in the class to sit at the back of the class. During school days, I never sat at the back of the class. It was unthinkable. I must be in the front row. Those of us from good homes, we had to look the teacher in the eye directly.”
Rev Christian, who was once a schoolteacher, said he intended to float a special school for a select few, but was yet to get the right spiritually sound disciples to enable him to float the school. He disclosed that God took him through a discipleship class. This is because “when God wants to give you an honour and sustain it, he carries you through a process of patience and continuous evaluation. Sometimes it’s painful, but it establishes the heart.”
He reiterated that things that move other men of God barely move him, for “rising takes a process of preparation. If you like giving pastors money, telling pastors that you are very rich, don’t forget I have already taken an oath of poverty,” he said, adding that he was not of this world but of the ancient.
Speaking to newsmen after the programme, he said Nigerian had remained stagnated because of the sheer numbers of evil men. According to him, “Nigeria cannot move forward the way we are. We are mixed, and the evil men are more. The hand of God to perform miracles is limited when you allow wicked men to hijack the country. Nigeria has been hijacked. So, we are calling on him to remove wicked men. Sometimes the pastors are part of the system. Some of these evil men go to church. The system that’s devouring Nigeria is also making use of the church.”
