Arsenal have added Nigerian international Ademola Lookman to their summer transfer shortlist, according to Sky Sport Germany’s transfer market guru Florian Plettenburg.
The Gunners are among several clubs expressing strong interest in the Atalanta forward ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.
Plettenburg revealed that Lookman, 27, is “planning to take the next step this summer,” with a switch to the Premier League a realistic possibility.
Despite being under contract with Atalanta until 2027, the former RB Leipzig and Leicester City attacker is attracting growing attention following an impressive campaign in Italy.
Lookman has been in superb form for Atalanta Bergamo this season, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. The London-born forward is seen as a versatile attacking option who can operate across the front line.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly eager to strengthen his attacking depth this summer, with Lookman emerging as a viable target.
While no formal offer has been made, Plettenburg confirmed that more teams are now monitoring Lookman’s situation.
His familiarity with English football—having previously played for Everton, Fulham and Leicester—adds to his appeal for Premier League clubs.
Atalanta are expected to demand a significant fee for their in-form star, who has become one of the standout performers in Serie A this season.
Lookman’s next move will be closely watched as the summer window approaches.
