The four Special Forces Command Doma, Nasarawa State has donated 4, 402 text books to 2, 490 pupils in Doma Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Commander of the Special Forces, Brig. Gen. Louis Lepdung, who made the donation said the gesture was in commemoration of the 2022 Nigerian Army’s Day celebration.

He said the books were donated on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Gen. Faruk Yahaya and was part of the army educational outreach to develop the younger generation to realise their potential and achieve their dreams.

He said the beneficiaries were drown from Doma Central Science Pilot Primary School, Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) Primary School and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School.

The commander said the army would continue to intervene in different sectors of human life to show Nigerians that they care about their welfare.

Lepdung also promised to do everything possible to tackle criminal elements in the area and the state.

Chairman of Doma LGA, Ahmed Usman-Sarki, expressed gratitude to the 4 Spacial Forces for  contributing to the educational development of its pupils.

The LGA boss said since the establishment of the Army formation in the area, its officers have been doing in curtailing armed robbery incidents along Doma/Lafia road.

The headmaster, Tina Attah-Garba and head teacher, RCM Doma thanked the army for the gesture and appealed to other agencies to invest in strengthening the education sector of the state.
