In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Arewa support group for TINUBU/SHETIMA, and sent to Daily Sun, Hon. Joseph Maiwada, the Chairman, emphasized the importance of integrity and statesmanship in political engagements, urging former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to adhere to these principles.

Maiwada highlighted concerns over Atiku’s persistence in revisiting past grievances and casting aspersions on the current administration, led by TINUBU/SHETIMA. He urged Atiku to prioritize the nation’s collective interests over personal ambitions, citing the need for dignified political discourse.

The group expressed dismay at Atiku’s alleged attempts to tarnish the reputation of TINUBU, despite efforts by the administration to foster positive change. Hon. Abdullahi Mudi Gumel, the Secretary of the support group, underscored the importance of moving beyond divisive ethnic and regional politics.

Gumel emphasized the administration’s accomplishments in revitalizing the economy, stabilizing the currency, ensuring petroleum product availability, and empowering millions of Nigerians through business grants. He also lauded the government’s commitment to maintaining security and fostering harmonious relations with labor unions.

Furthermore, Gumel praised the institutional independence of Nigeria’s three arms of government under the leadership of TINUBU/SHETIMA, signaling a departure from past practices.

In response to Atiku’s allegations against the first family, the support group urged him to channel any evidence to law enforcement agencies for appropriate action. Maiwada stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and allowing due process to prevail.

The Arewa support group reiterated its commitment to promoting unity and progress in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They called for a shift towards constructive engagement and urged Atiku to embrace the path of dignity and statesmanship in political discourse.
