From Okwe Obi, Abuja
The Arewa Youth Assembly, has told Senator Ireti Kingibe, to join the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to develop the seat of power rather than accuse him of being care less about the insecurity.
Kingibe, had accused the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, of displaying  ‘I-don’t-care-attitude’ towards insecurity in the FCT.
However, Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Mohammed Salihu Danlami, in a statement yesterday, said the attack was ingenious.
Danlami, also, stated that the senator’s remark was politically motivated geared towards tarnishing the image of the former Rivers State governor.
He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication issued by the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Ireti Kingibe, wherein she accuses the Honourable Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, of displaying a “I don’t care attitude” towards the security of the Federal Capital Territory.
“We unequivocally state that this is a politically motivated statement, by slander, witch-hunt, and image tarnishing that we find absurd and therefore condemn it in all ramifications.
“It doesn’t require rocket science to know that the Honourable Minister of FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike (CON), since his appointment, has remained committed to securing the lives and protecting the properties of Abuja residents.
“Additionally, he has significantly impacted other areas of infrastructural development, economic empowerment, social welfare, sustainability development, and community engagement.”
He added: “We reiterate the undiluted commitment of His Excellency, the Honourable Minister of FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, to securing the lives and properties of all residents, as a matter of fact, that stands as his number one priority because he believes without security, no meaningful development can be achieved.
“While we caution Senator Ireti to desist from using such cheap tricks of playing politics with the precious lives of FCT residents, causing nuisance and diverting the attention of the Honourable Minister, we plead with the residents to remain calm, comply with security agents in carrying out their jobs, and report anything suspicious, as security is the responsibility of us all.”
