Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Festus Fuanter, has said that not all calibre of detectors will be acceptable into the ruling party.

He pointed out that the party will be wary to accept non-performing and corrupt politicians, especially governors who have failed to perform in their states in spite of the billions they received as statutory allocations in the past two years.

He also cautioned protesters against the appointment of Dr. Cyril Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, on the gale of defections into the APC from other parties, especially the People Democratic Party (PDP), Fuanter said the APC has not as a matter of deliberate policy persuaded any governor or legislator to decamp to the APC. Rather they are all decamping into the APC out of their volition and in recognition of the positive trajectory, which the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu is moving the country towards.

He added that the defections are mostly because of the failure of the PDP to provide internal democracy for its members.

On the protest over the appointment of Dr. Cyril Tsenyil, he said that the appointment received the full backing and endorsement of state chapter of the party and therefore warned fifth columnists and their sponsors to desist from meddling in the affairs of the APC.

He condemned activities of a group and a proposed protest by some faceless groups against the appointment of  Tsenyil describing such protests as ill conceived and unnecessary.
