Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in ward 05, Ode Local Government, Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi,was on Monday, kidnapped by yet-to-be identified gunmen.
According to sources,the incident occurred in the evening at the APC chieftain’s farm, located along Owo-Ifon road.
Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ,Olusola Ayanlade, said ,”I can confirm to you that the chairman of APC ward 05 in Ose LG was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.
“Immediately the police received the report of the incident, the DPO, Ifon police division in collaboration with the hunters, local vigilantes and Nigeria Army personnel launched a manhunt for the suspects.
“The Command urges anyone with information that could aid in the rescue operation to come forward. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” he added.
As at the time of filling this report, the kidnappers were yet to reach out to the family of the victim to demand for ransom.
