The former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh has boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning Abia State in 2027 was a sure deal.
Chief Ikoh stated this at his country home, Ahuwa Oboro, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State during an APC stakeholders meeting.
“I can assure you APC will take over Abia state come 2027 because President Bola Tinubu has done well and we have a lot of people in APC that will make it happen in various communities and villages, in various LGAs.
“For me, I know it’s a sure deal. I’m saying this because Abia State is APC 100 percent.”
The ex-Minister noted that people may be talking about hardship in the country presently, but stated the President is laying a solid foundation for the country that will move it from consumption to production nation.
Ikoh’s optimism of APC winning the state in 2027, despite the hardship in the country, was of the view that “without pains, there will be no gains.”
He added, “People may be talking about economic hardship under the present administration, but if it is painful, it is not gainful. Hardship might be there, but Mr. President and the APC family has laid a solid foundation that will make Nigeria move from consumption to production nation and I can tell you, before the end of this administration, things will begin to flow.”
He called on people of the state to mobilize and ensure the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027.
Giving reason for his call, Ikoh said the president has done well for the state in the area of the airport project, the rehabilitation of the Enugu – Port Harcourt Expressway which said benefitted the state immensely, among others.
He also cited roads in his community which he said were rehabilitated by Nigeria Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the APC administration.
“I call on the people of the state to mobilize for Mr. President come 2027 because every politics is local. We have to mobilize 100 percent for Mr. President and all APC family, particularly in Abia State because Mr. President has done so well in Abia State and Nigeria in general.
“You can see the ongoing Air Port project, the road from Enugu to Port Harcourt is now motorable, it’s APC family. Roads in the South East are becoming motorable that very soon many people will stop flying, they will like to go by road, Mr. President is doing well for the people.”
Ikoh equally commended President Tinubu for the establishment of the South East Development Commission, stressing that South Easterners have been clamouring to have such commission over the years.
“Establishing the Commission has happened during the time of Tinubu and the people are happy because this will make development to move to the grassroots in the South East.”
Ikoh said it is true the South East has benefitted from the present administration, he stressed the region stands to gain more if it joins the centre.
