Honorable Ibrahim Aminu Male, former member Representing Jalingo/Yorro/Zing federal constituency and the current candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the rerun election for the same position on Sunday said that the smooth conduct of the party primaries has restored the hope of the party in the State in the midst of likely extinction.

Male disclosed this during an interaction with Journalists after he was declared winner of the party primaries for the House of Representatives seat for the zone in the State.

The former and prospective Representative noted that gross irregularities and other sharp practices have almost brought the party to oblivion and commended the national leadership of the party for standing firm to ensure that the people have the final decision in who bears the party’s flag.

“Gentlemen, I must say that this is purely an act of God and I am grateful to God for keeping us safe and strong to face these challenges. I must also commend you the Press for been relentless in ensuring that the right thing is done.

“For the first time in the history of APC in Taraba, we are able to get free fair and well organised Primaries in the State. This is possible due to the calibre of officials the National secretariat sent to conduct this election. They have seen the tendency of the APC going extinct in the State and they stood their ground to ensure that the right thing is done to restore confidence in our great party in the State.

I want to assure you that with this opening, APC will go places. Let me call on those we contested together to join me so that we can ensure victory for the party. We have already agreed on how to work together to win the election and I can assure you that we are all on the same page” Male said.

Aminu Male defeated Four other aspirants at the Primaries of the party held on Saturday to clinch the ticket of the party.

Lawal Samaila Abdullahi, Chairman of electoral committee who declared Male as the winner of the party’s primary election for the seat of House of Representatives member Representing Jalingo Yorro Zing federal constituency at the rerun scheduled to hold soon, commended the patriotic participation of the stakeholders and assured them that the APC is on course to take over Taraba.

“Base on the guidelines of the party with regards to the conduct of primary elections, this exercise has taken place and successfully so. From the votes cast, the aspirants perform as follows; Aminu Ibrahim Male got 41 votes, Engr. Alkali Aliyu13, Muhammad Abdulmumini Hamza, 26, and Umar Biliyaminu 29 votes.

“Ibrahim Aminu Male, haven scored the highest number of votes with a victory Margin of 12 votes and satisfied the provisions of the law, is hereby declared the winner of the election and consequently, the candidate of the party for the forthcoming election for the Jalingo Yorro Zing federal constituency in Taraba State. Let me therefore urge you all to work together to ensure that the victory goes to the party”.

 

The other aspirants at the Primaries told Daily Sun that “we have all participated. The committee has done their job and we are overwhelmed at the transparency of the process. We have accepted the result in good faith. This is a good record. We would team up with the winner to ensure that APC enjoys victory at the end of the day”.

Our Correspondent reports that the party held her Primaries peacefully on Saturday evening, despite earlier apprehensions of predictable irregularities and political scheming.
