Pastor Samuel Ogunyooye who has a burning desire to see to the continuous growth of the Cherubim and Seraphim church and a special crave for a good public perception about the church, in 2018 debuted a talk show titled Anathema – The white garment experience.
The talk show was held during the adoption anniversary week of GOGCS. The success of the talk show inspired Samuel Ogunyooye to convert it to a film documentary in the year 2022.
Produced from the stable of Cheser Media Inc., the documentary which premiered on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Irvin Arts Centre, Texas, the United States of America also featured nollywood actors.
The documentary project, according to Ogunyooye, the visionary founder of Cheser Media, is a complement to various efforts by passionate adherents to tell the story of the Cherubim and Seraphim church, adding that Anathema is in a unique class of its own.
“As it stands, my dispositions are still within the sphere of initiating documentary projects that borders on the C&S church. Because it is a divine call and that is where my passion lies.
On this note, the key messages of The Anathema project include telling positive stories of the church that are underreported.
What I hope to achieve with it is to effect a positive change and to also leave a lasting legacy through our visionary projects that unborn generations would run with,” he reiterated.
Shedding light on how he managed to collaborate with Nollywood stars for the documentary, as well as his general experience working with known faces, Ogunyooye, a devoted member of the Cherubim and Seraphim church gave kudos to renowned movie producer and screenwriter, Francisca Eleyele for coming through for him.
He said: “For me, I believe when there is a will, there is a way. The project itself is not a regular project, it is in a class of its own. We were able to facilitate their involvement through a renowned movie producer and screenwriter, Francisca Eleyele. The experience was an amazing one. Surprisingly, most of them having read the script understood our message, embraced it and were ready to deliver. We were also able to disabuse their minds in the process”.
