President Bola Tinubu endorsed Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election bid during a visit to Anambra State on Thursday, May 8, where he commissioned several projects amid tight security and fanfare. Arriving at Prof Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, at 12:15 pm, Tinubu was welcomed by Soludo and other stakeholders.

At a town hall meeting in Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Tinubu praised Soludo, saying: “Soludo is my friend and I salute his vision, he has the brain, he’s a great thinker, he knows the way and we will work together.”

He highlighted Anambra’s progress, stating: “Anambra is on the rise,” and promised federal support to tackle erosion and abandoned roads, adding: “Anambra has almost become erosion capital of the world, we will do everything to make ecological investment.”

Soludo detailed his achievements, saying: “We have completed over 500km roads and flyovers and general hospital and smart schools and water projects, waiting for commissioning… Anambra is clearly on the rise.” He reaffirmed APGA’s support for Tinubu, noting: “APGA has strategically aligned with the centre… we will support Mr. President.”

Former Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku and businessman Sir Emeka Offor praised Tinubu’s visit and Soludo’s leadership. Governors from Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ogun, Delta, and Borno, alongside Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and Minister David Umahi, attended.
