The President General, Electrical Dealers International Market, Obosi in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Chike Johnbosco Onunkwo, has constructed over N80 million 380 metres link road to the Second Onitsha River Niger Bridge at Obosi axis of the road.

Onunkwo said that the asphalt road already completed waiting for commissioning will give the traders and customers at the market easy access to the new second Niger Bridge to reduce tarrific jam experienced at the Onitsha-Owerri road.

The President who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in his office, commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for constituting anti-touting task force to restore sanity in the commercial city of Onitsha.

He noted that the task force is doing well to eradicate the ugly trend which he said scares customers from coming into Anambra State.

Onunkwo stated that within his two years in office, his administration has done much to improve the ease of doing business in the Market by providing adequate security.

“We have also built toilet facilities in the Market to provide decent convenience for both our members and our customers,”co Onunkwo said.

The Electrical Dealers Market President also observed that their market which is now 18 years old is doing well in all ramifications, adding that the hosting of the 2023 end of year prayer crusade organized by the Anambra State Markets Evangelism Coordinators Committee, (ANSMECC) in collaboration with the Prayer and Evangelism Coordinators of Electrical Market, Obosi was an indication of the unity of purpose in the markets.

While affirming that the one day prayer crusade was soul enriching for the participants who also came from other markets in the State, he observed that the there is need for fervent prayers for God to intervene in the various challenges facing the South Eastern Nigeria.

“Our Solution Governor is not relenting in making the markets in Anambra State to flourish. People are scared of coming into Anambra State to do business because of the nefarious activities of toutes all over the place, but the Governor is on top of the situation now, which has brought immense relief to the traders in the State”, he continued.

Onunkwo also applauded Governor Soludo for the palliative works done on Onitsha-Owerri Road, which is a Federal Road, to ease movement for commuters on that road.

He appealed to the Governor to provide Security Van for them to enhance security in their Market as well as Fire Fighting Trucks in case of fire disaster.
