- Says No vacancy in Anambra government house
From Aloysius Attah, Onitsha
As the preparation for the Anambra governorship election gets underway, frontline APGA Senatorial aspirant for Anambra South District bye election, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, has stated that there is no vacancy in Awka government house as the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has performed creditably in office that warrants his unfettered second term in office.
Onunkwo who spoke with reporters in Onitsha during the thanksgiving mass for the National Chairman of APGA, stated that no governor in the history of the state has achieved what Soludo has done so far in office within three years. He advised other contenders to avoid wasting their resources because people of the state will vote overwhelmingly for the governor during the election.
“Soludo is a miracle worker, a working governor who towers above all contemporaries. What he has done so far is marvelous in our eyes and the difference is clear. Anybody planning to contest against Soludo may have a lot of money to waste because the person won’t succeed in that venture.”
On the future of the ruling party in the state, Onunkwo stated that Soludo will not be the last governor of APGA like some naysayers insinuate for political reasons.
“APGA is Anambra and Anambra is APGA. It will be a difficult task to for any other party to unseat or upturn an APGA governor in Anambra. Anyone having such dream should just wake up from the dream and face reality.
He said the party APGA is prepared as ever for both the governorship election in November and the senatorial bye election to fill up the vacant seat left by the demise of the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly though INEC is yet to release the election date.
On his preparedness for the bye election, he said he had done all the grassroots sensitization and outreach across the seven local government areas in Anambra south.
“This is what I’ve been doing over the years. Reaching out to the people through humanitarian activities and human capital development with my personal resources. If I eventually get to the senate by the grace of God, I’m going to amplify what I’ve been doing with my personal resources and also try to make good laws and representation that would enhance the lives of my people in Anambra South” he stated.
