President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has thrown his full weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, ahead of the 2025 gubernatorial election.
In strong demonstration of support at the Presidential Villa on Monday, President Tinubu presented the APC flag to the duo, signaling his confidence in their ability to secure victory in the forthcoming election.
“Go and get me Anambra,” the President charged Ukachukwu, as he handed over the party’s flag, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to delivering success for the APC in the Southeast state.
Reaffirming the party’s backing, Tinubu assured the candidates of unwavering support throughout the campaign. “We are going to work with you. We are going to stand with you come rain, come shine.
“That is all I can assure you. The party is supreme, but victory is superior and very important,” he stated.
The President lauded the APC’s leadership at both national and state levels for their roles in the successful conduct of the party’s primaries.
He particularly praised the selection of Senator Ekwunife as the running mate, describing her as an exemplary choice.
“Distinguished Senator Ekwunife, your choice as our candidate’s running mate is a superlative one. I have no doubt about the party’s victory with you and our flagbearer. You have both been described as giant killers I wish you success,” Tinubu said.
The event was witnessed by top party officials, including APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
With the official endorsement from the highest office, Ukachukwu and Ekwunife now carry the APC’s banner into the Anambra 2025 race, energized by the President’s firm support and a unified party structure behind them.
