Barely 24 hours after her golden triumph at the ISTAF Berlin, Nigeria’s golden girl Tobi Amusan says she is shifting attention to the Letzigrund Stadium in anticipation of an encore as the Diamond League train stops in Zurich on Thursday.
Amusan made history as the first Nigerian athlete to win a Diamond League discipline when she stormed home first in a then 12.42 seconds African record at the Diamond League final in Zurich.
The reigning Nigeria, African, Commonwealth and World 100m hurdles champion was in action at the ISTAF Berlin meeting on Sunday where she won the race in 12.45 seconds.
Amusan took to her facebook page after the event to express her gratitude to God for winning on her third straight visit to Berlin.
She also hopes to successfully defend her Diamond League trophy in Zurich at the Diamond League final.
‘Glory to God for today’s (Sunday’s) victory at the ISTAF Berlin meet.
‘Clocked 12.45s which was the identical time I ran last weekend (Aug 26th) to finish 2nd at the Lausanne Diamond League.
‘Next stop is the Diamond League final later this week. Same stadium my winning spree began last year when I became the first Nigerian to win a Diamond League Trophy.
“I look forward to that moment once again. Your will be done Oh Lord!,’ she wrote.
