The Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, on Youth Mobilisation and Empowerment, Mkeenem Moses, has cautioned youths in the state against raising false alarms and making spurious allegations about genital theft.

Mkeenem who condemned the recent incidents of false alarms about penis snatching in Makurdi described such as criminal act saying there is no such case of a missing penis in Benue State.

The SSA said state government would take immediate actions to apprehend those responsible for spreading such false rumours and engaging in acts of violence against innocent people.

He stated that acts of cruelty cannot be overlooked or allowed to linger under the administration of Governor Alia who is working round the clock to end all forms of insecurity in the state.

Alia’s aide said government have observed with concerns, the formation of criminal groups amongst some of the youth, who have been spreading false rumours about penis snatching.

“These rumours have caused panic and have led to mob action and the mistreatment of innocent individuals.

“We want to condemn these barbaric and criminal acts in the strongest possible terms, to say despite the earlier warning issued by the Benue State Police Command on these incidents, it has continued to occur,” he said.
