All is set for this year’s edition of The Real Face of An African Child beauty pageant which comes up later in the year. Unveiling plans for the event, the boss of the platform, Ambassador Obitex Ngoka, disclosed that the objective is to rebrand the African child.
“When you read about the African child in foreign media, the impression you get is that of a deprived, poor, hungry, malnourished and a displaced child. But that is not the case but the impression the western media wants to project to the world and we must change that impression,” Ngoga said with passion in a chat with Entertainer.
Describing the African child as peculiar and faced with cultural, social and economic challenges and often stigmatized, he said that despite this, the African child budding with talents and so needs to be given opportunity to excel.
“This is a platform were we give children the opportunity to display their God given talent.
We want tell the world that the African child is a bundle of talent. Our kids have been neglected for too long. We are rebranding the African child.
The Real Face of an African Child is a rewarding platform with commitment to provide benefits that will support the African child in the area of education, health and capacity building,” Ngoka added
He revealed that auditions will be held in the six geopolitical zones of the country disclosing that
the star prize is a million naira cash, scholarship to university level and a brand new family car.
The first runners-up goes home with a million naira cash and scholarship to University level,
while the second runners-up gets N500, 000 cash and scholarship to University.
