Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Nasarawa State, has described the late Emir of Awe, HRH Abubakar Umar II, as a ruler whose reign brought peace and development to the people of the area.
The monarch died, at weekend, after a protracted illness, he was on the throne for 33 years and 4 days.
In a condolence message issued yesterday by his spokesman, Yakubu Lamai, the governor said that the late Emir ‘s mission in life has been to offer purposeful leadership and to foster harmonious co existence.

Meanwhile, a special assistant to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Hon Jacob Ajegana-Kudu has resigned his appointment and membership of the APC.
Hon. Kudu, who failed in his bid to secure the party’s ticket to contest for the Nasarawa Eggon East state constituency, said there is no fairness and justice in the party.
He said the injustice melted out to him during the House of Assembly primaries where delegates list was doctored to favour a particular candidate was the reason for his departure.
