Al-Ahli ready to pay Osimhen’s release clause

Saudi Arabian Pro League club, Al-Ahli is still strongly interested in Victor Osimhen and is ready to pay his release clause, according to Italian daily newspaper, La Repubblica.

Al-Ahli attempted to sign Victor Osimhen last summer but a monster bid was rejected by Napoli.

The Saudi club has not given up the pursuit of the reigning African Footballer of the Year and is prepared to satisfy all of Napoli’s conditions to finalise the deal. However, the stumbling block to the proposed deal is the fact that Osimhen does not want to move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.

The €130 million clause has prevented the European clubs interested in his signature from submitting a bid, ranging from Arsenal to Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea and Manchester United were also priced out of a deal and have turned attention to cheaper and younger alternatives.

Osimhen earns €10 million per season at Napoli and without Champions League football in 2024-2025, his wages would be a financial burden on the Blues if he’s not sold.
