Few days to the general elections, Innocent Akpuaka has endorsed the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi. 

The renowned philanthropist and business leader, who equally holds the traditional title of Ozor Gbulie Aku, publicly received his membership card for the party, as he received party executives, chieftains, candidates and stakeholders in his constituency at the weekend. The event was attended by local government executives, including party candidates and their supporters.

A native of Abba in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Akpuaka said he returned home from abroad to pick his membership card as a demonstration of his patriotic zeal to see the new Nigeria, which Obi’s candidacy represents. He also rallied support for Victor Umeh and other LP candidates in the forthcoming general election.

Addressing the crowd of party faithful in Iruokpala, Ire village, Abba Ward 2, he drummed support for Obi, describing him as the face of a new Nigeria. 

The state chairman of the party, and the Abba Ward 2 Chairman of the party, Remigius Anaeke,and other state and local government party executives, officially welcomed Akpuaka to the party.

Also, present were the party’s senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Umeh, and George Ozodinobi among other party candidates.

Anaeke commended Akpuaka for his patriotism in joining the moving train, noting that LP would work  to ensure victory for all its candidates in the polls.

In an interview with newsmen, Akpuaka promised to do everything within his powers to ensure the party candidates emerged victorious in the forthcoming elections.

To ensure victory, he  pleaded with the party leaders at all levels to stick to the truth in all their dealings so as not to tarnish Obi’s glowing reputation and national acceptance.
