Fast rising Afrobeats star, Alama Kelvin aka AK7 Superstar is looking forward to the New Year with high expectations, believing it’s his year of breakthrough.
According to AK7 Superstar, 2023 has been a year of hard work, but he’s grateful that it is ending on a high note, as he looks forward to the release of his new single billed for Friday, January 12, 2024.
The Benue State indigene noted: “It’s been a year of hard work and I am glad it has paid off. I look forward to the release of my new single in the New Year under the TKM label with so much expectation.”
AK7 Superstar’s musical style is predicated on the emancipation of the poor and the struggle of man’s everyday life. He’s blessed with a flair for adding vibes and carrying his audience along.
AK7 Superstar attended Iwerekun Community High School, Lakowe, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. As a youngster, he has always wanted to be a great musician. He was influenced by the Catholic Church choir where he began his singing career. At age seven, he, including two of his uncles and aunties, always danced and sang at the beach. Incidentally, he was made the lead singer, which further boosted his confidence.
However, his musical career began after his secondary school in 2006. Though, he left music after some years, he came back in 2015. His first album had a song titled, Run Come and it was an instant hit.
The song, Run Come encouraged him to do more. He has other singles like The Kpa and Ghetto Party, and he is greatly influenced by 2face Idibia, a music icon also from Benue State.
On music as a career, the young artiste said, “I live and breathe music. I have always wanted to be a musician as a little boy. 2Baba is my idol; his style of music gives me so much inspiration and motivates me, so I love him. I’m bringing to the Nigerian music industry good, classic and unique music.”
The 30-year-old musician revealed that his late father was his number one fan. “He supported me financially, likewise my mum,” he stated.
Though, he has been in the industry for more than five years, AK7 Superstar, who has performed and made appearances in UrbanLive and Shine Lagos, said his goal is to become a global legend.
