Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 7, Abuja, comprising FCT and Niger State, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, has charged officers to flush criminals out of Abuja especially Abuja-Kaduna Expressway: “My vision is to fight criminals and criminality.
“We are ready for the battle. Officers should imbibe community policing and apply professionalism. We will ensure adequate security in the zone. We are going after criminals and clear terrorists from the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
“I have directed the two commissioners of police to sustain efforts in fighting crimes and criminality. I have lectured officers on the need to confront security challenges in their environments. I warned them to maintain discipline when carrying out their duties. There are constant patrols especially on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. We are performing our statutory responsibilities of protecting of life and property.
“Officers should be professional and mindful of the fundamental rights of the citizens. They should discharge their responsibilities with all humility, decorum and alertness.
“I have warned officers not to get involved in illegal duty. Anyone caught will face the Police Act and consequences of their action. We need to have good relationship with the public to assist us in fighting hoodlums.
“Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun’s vision is to fight crime and criminality, uphold justice and fairness, protect human dignity and restore standard and values. We will engage in robust and effective human and technical intelligence gathering process to enhance capacity personnel.”
