Assiant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 7, Abuja, comprising FCT and Niger State, Mr Adebowale Williams, has charged officers on security challenges: “My mission is to encourage officers to confront security challenges facing the country.

“I am aware of the task ahead. I will have train and re-train my officers on how to conduct investigations properly and conduct themselves properly in the public. I have told them that they need to apply thorough professionalism in discharging their duties.

“The acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, promised improved the welfare of personnel. There will be proactivity rather than reacting to criminal activities. There will be a robust and effective human and technical intelligence gathering process to enhance the capacity of personnel.

“I have directed the two commissioners of police in the zone to sustain the fight against crime and criminality. We are performing our statutory responsibilities of protecting life and property.

“I also warned them to shun corruption. If any officer is involved in corruption, he will be disciplined according to police Regulations Act. They have to be hardworking and conduct themselves properly in the public. They should also look descent in their dressing.”
