Years back, agbada, a uniquely Yoruba apparel, was mainly worn by men to ceremonial events like parties, weddings, house warming and very serious traditional occasions.

But these days, people now wear beautifully designed and heavily embrodered agbada  to all kinds of occasions. Agbada could also  be simple and casual and made from fabrics like cotton, silk, corduroy and linen.

One exciting development is that agbada is also trending for women. Most women prefer wearing their agbada with trousers. It could be with leggings or even same fabric. However, some fashion forward ladies wear agbada just as a gown and it looks smart and inviting when paired with sneakers.
