The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union (AU) are joining forces to co-host Africa Celebrates 2024, a vibrant pan-African festival from November 6-10 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event will be held at UNECA’s headquarters, including the historic Africa Hall, the birthplace of the African Union, setting the stage for a celebration of the continent’s unity and progress.

 

Africa Celebrates 2024 will bring together cultural, economic, and social leaders for a diverse lineup of events. Key forums include the Africa Talks Business & Investment Forum, the Tech & Innovation Summit, and the Women & Youth Forum, all designed to spark dialogue and collaboration in critical sectors. Attendees will also enjoy the Africa Fashion Business Forum, the Wellness & Beauty Africa Expo, and the Afro Film Alliance, which will highlight African creativity and entrepreneurship.

 

The festival will also feature initiatives like the Deborah Foundation’s awareness campaign on Down Syndrome, reaffirming its commitment to social causes. Cultural events such as the Africa Peace Walk & Carnival and Cultural Night will showcase Africa’s rich heritage, while the glamorous Gala Fashion & Awards Night will celebrate talent across the continent.

In addition to the festivities, Africa Celebrates 2024 aims to promote economic integration, focusing on empowering African women and youth through trade, tourism, and investment initiatives. With participants from over 38 countries, this year’s edition is expected to be the largest yet, marking a significant milestone in celebrating Africa’s unity and growth.
