…As Moghalu becomes board member of ISCA
Rwandan President, Paul Kagame, has told an international security conference that African countries should not outsource their future and their security.
He made the disclosure in his opening address at the inaugural international conference of the International Security Conference on Africa (ISCA), held in Kigali from May 19 to 20, this year. Former Chairman of the African Union Commission and Chairman of the ISCA Advisory Council was the guest speaker.
Kagame stated: “This forum is not only timely, it is also long overdue. Africa’s future, particularly matters of peace and security, cannot be outsourced.
For far too long, our security has been treated as a burden to be managed by others, with minimal input from us and often without the benefit of our context or indeed our consent. This approach has failed.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Professor Kingsley Moghalu, President and Vice-Chancellor of the African School of Governance (ASG), has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of ISCA.
