Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman said securing Champions League qualification was not an easy feat.

The Nigeria international scored the first goal as Atalanta beat AS Roma 2-1 at Gewiss Stadium on Monday night.

The hard-fought victory secured UCL qualification for Atalanta, who are third on the Serie A table, seven points ahead of fourth-placed Juventus, with two matches to go.

“It’s not easy to do what we did this season,” Lookman said after Monday night’s victory.

“It’s a great feeling, we knew the importance of the game today to qualify for the Champions League. We put in a performance tonight that was deserving of that.”

Lookman was a doubt for La Dea going into the game after being absent from training late last week, with reports of an inflamed achilles tendon.

“I try to be available whenever I can, so that’s important, I try to give my best. The team showed we are strong, there are two more games, we want to finish with as many points as possible,” he stated.
