American actor and comedian Jamie Foxx has finally revealed the mystery illness that disrupted his movie shoot in April 2023.

Opening up on his new Netflix comedy special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…, the movie star disclosed that he suffered a stroke last year that almost took his life.

Foxx had been rushed to the hospital while filming Back in Action in Atlanta, with speculations sending his fanbase into a media frenzy.

Recalling the terrifying experience, Foxx, who appeared to be emotional, said: “April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for an aspirin. I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*** to do.”

The actor shared that he was out cold before he could even get the aspirin and the next thing he remembered was waking up in the hospital to find out that 20 days had passed.

He added that he had no memory of events that transpired during his comatose state.

Initially, his doctor planned to send him home with a cortisone shot but his sister Deidra Dixon sensed something was wrong and drove him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the doctors confirmed that he had suffered a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. They were also told that he would likely not survive without immediate surgery.

“I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. I was in that tunnel, though. It was hot in that tunnel.

“Shit, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf*****? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil — like, ‘Come on,'” Foxx said.

The celebrity stated that he was overcome by emotions after waking up from the weeks-long coma to see himself in a wheelchair.
