Billionaire industrialist and founder, Max Air, Dr Dahiru Barau Mangal has done it again. Less than six months after he disrupted the Northern Nigeria social calendar with a superlative wedding of his daughter, Nafisa, the Katsina-born new cement mogul has once again flaunted his influence and wealth to host another grand wedding for his highly cerebral pretty daughter, Dr. Zainab Mangal and her beloved heartthrob, Alhaji Atiku Ibrahim.
This time, it was a four-day extravaganza and each event colourfully honoured family tradition and prestige. The festivities began with a traditional henna party on Wednesday 30 October, followed by the Kamu celebration for Zainab the following day and the wedding fatiha/Nikkah held on Saturday 2 November. All the three events took place in Kofar Kwaya, Katsina State. They were grand and attended by notable personalities from across the country. By Tuesday November 5, excitement had reached fever pitch with Mangal, the billionaire father of the bride, taking the celebrations to a new level. It was the grand wedding dinner cum reception.
Set in Abuja, the federal capital’s luxury, the gathering brought together an exclusive guest list, once again signifying the power and influence of the Mangal family. For all the wedding guests, it was a blend of joy, luxury and tradition fitting for a family of such stature —a powerful member of the Northern oligarch.
