A statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chris Ezem, said the government has directed all law enforcement agencies to be on alert, to apprehend and disperse all illegal gatherings designed to breach the existing peace in the state.

The statement advised all banks in the state to ensure that both old and new naira notes are readily available to customers. It went further to direct parents to warn their children to avoid any form of demonstration and illegal gatherings as security agents have been directed to arrest and prosecute offenders.

Meanwhile, the Abia State government has frowned at a proposed coronation of one Sarki Shehu Bello 11 as the Emir of Aba Emirate Council without recourse to it. A statement signed by Ezem warned all involved in the unauthorised and illegal coronation to stop, forthwith, or be prepared to face the full weight of the law. While cancelling, with immediate effect, the proposed illegal coronation, as there was nothing like Aba Emirate Council in the state, the government warned all residents in the state, especially those resident in Aba, to be law abiding. The government directed law enforcement agencies to swing into action and ensure no such event, capable of breaching the existing peace in the state, takes place in Aba or any part of the state.
