As the 2027 elections gradually approach, the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has reacted to the growing endorsements for his re-election back to the Red Chambers.

Speaking on the calls for him to declare his intention to return to the Senate, Kalu stated that his primary focus remains on the welfare of the people of Abia North Senatorial District rather than political ambitions.

In a statement, the former Abia State governor who won the Awards on Best Senator on Constituency Development emphasized the urgency of addressing the economic hardship faced by Nigerians, stressing that discussions about future elections should not overshadow the immediate needs of the people.

“My focus right now is not on the politics of 2027 but on the people of Abia North Senatorial District and how to improve their lives because there is hunger in the land. I cannot be talking about politics when my people are hungry,” Kalu said.
