A publication titled “Abia 2027: Reps Deputy Speaker, Kalu, urged to run for governorship position”, attributed to Ukwa la Ngwa leadership, has been denounced by stakeholders from the Ukwa la Ngwa Nation as false and misleading.
On Monday, April 28, Dr Kassarachi Enyinna, a former Young Progressive Party (YPP) Vice Presidential Candidate and prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, issued a disclaimer at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, clarifying that the Ukwa la Ngwa leadership authorised no such endorsement.
Dr Enyinna, an investment banker and philanthropist, reaffirmed his support for APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and praised Tinubu’s economic leadership. He warned Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu and the public against political opportunists using divisive tactics for personal gain.
Backing incumbent Governor Dr Alex Otti, Enyinna lauded Otti’s two-year performance, stating, “Dr Alex Otti has delivered remarkably and deserves a second term in 2027.”
He urged Kalu to focus on legislative duties and avoid manipulation by “fair-weather politicians” linked to Abia’s past stagnation.
Enyinna stressed that the Ukwa la Ngwa leadership never mandated any group or individual to endorse a 2027 governorship candidate. Citing the Abia Charter of Equity, he advocated for Abia North’s support for Abia Central to complete its eight-year tenure, backing Otti’s re-election to sustain development.
