The second batch of 72 drivers trained at the ABC Transport Driver Training Academy (DTA), on Saturday,  December 3, 2023, graduated from the institute.

This second batch of drivers completes the 2023 set of heavy duty trainees who underwent a five-month course at the training centre in Owerri, Imo State.

Speaking to the graduates before the presentation of certificates, the founder of ABC Transport, Mr. Frank Nneji, OON, indicated that the current set were lucky to be the 20th anniversary graduates, since the institution is in its 20th year.

Established in the year 2002 with its first trainees passing out in 2003, the ABC Transport DTA was initially designed as an in-house training facility for ABC Transport drivers.

However, due to increasing demand for quality drivers in the country, the training centre was expanded to admit trainees from other companies and from individuals.

The driving school covers training and instructions in heavy duty truck driving with emphasis on safety for articulated trucks. This model of training has seen the ABC DTA graduates excelling in the field both here in Nigeria and in the diaspora.

The academy has graduated over 1,500 heavy duty drivers since its establishment and is fully accredited by the Federal Road Safety Corps,FRSC and National Board for Technical Education, NABTEB.

Responding on behalf of the graduates, the Student Leader, Mr. Emeka Onuoha, thanked the founder of ABC transport, Mr. Frank Nneji for his vision in establishing the academy and expressed their sincere appreciation for the quality of instructions received, adding that it would position them appropriately to favourably compete with their colleagues in the field.

The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the FRSC led by the Sector Head of Training, Imo State Sector Command, Deputy Corps Commander .N. Agbeb; and representatives of NABTEB led by the Imo State NABTEB Coordinator, Mrs. Christiana Okey-Egwumba.

ABC Transport is a diversified transport operator in West Africa with operations covering Passenger, Haulage and Cargo operations with express last mile parcel delivery services.

As it has been the culture of ABC Transport, the best three graduating students were offered automatic employment to join their crew of drivers.
