That was the case recently when the founder and CEO of BKGlamz boutique, Bukonla Ifedayo Esan, aka Bukkykoga, was spotted on the street of Ketu, Lagos, sharing cooked food to beggars and other less privileged people.
Photos of her activities, widely circulated online, showed the entrepreneur and Instagram influencer handing out food packs to a crowd that surrounded her on a busy street.
The CEO of the BKGlam group is known to spend most of her time between London and Lagos where she organises extravagant wedding events, birthdays and other high-society parties that are usually the talk of the town.
The series of photos showing Bukkykoga busy sharing what looked like cooked rice in plastic packs first appeared online in the first week of January 2023, and it came as a surprise to many to see the Plymouth University graduate mingling with the downtrodden on the streets of Lagos.
The BKGlam CEO, who is one of the many self-made icons that are inspirational to young girls, has often been outspoken about how important it is to eradicate poverty in society. 
Her benevolent gesture, therefore, was interpreted by some observers as one of a person who walked her talk.
Bukkykoga who made fame and fortune through her 2015-founded BKGlam group is a British citizen (even though she is Nigerian-born) and has successfully created international events management and fashions designing businesses that thrive on two continents.
It, therefore, came as a surprise to many to find her rubbing shoulders with beggars and homeless people in Lagos.
