Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum has approved and released N5.029 million scholarship to 13 years old boy for display of talent in re-enacting the Maiduguri flyover with mud.
Gov Zulum directed the state Education Trust Fund to present the N5.029 million cheque to the school where Musa Sani, the talented 13 years old primary three school pupil attend, spokesman to the governor, Isa Gusau explained in a statement on Monday.
“A cheque of N5m approved by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has been presented to a private school to fund a scholarship for Musa Sani, a 13-year old talented Borno kid who used mud to replicate the state’s first flyover around the customs round-about in Maiduguri,” be disclosed.
He said the payment was made by the Education Trust Fund head, Prof Hauwa Biu, to private school in Maiduguri, where Musa now attend. He said the scholarship is to cater for Musa’s education from primary to completion of Senior Secondary education.
He said the boy, born of a poor background, caught the attention of the governor recently at Gwange, a very populated area in the capital.
The governor was said to have sighted the displayed dummy of the flyover creatively re-enacted with mud by the boy.
The Maiduguri Custom flyover, the first in the state, was commissioned early in the year by President Muhammad Buhari.
