The Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Mrs Ada Charles Egwu has lauded the Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade for giving women a pride of place in his administration.

Making the commendation on Wednesday in her office , Mrs Egwu stated that the governor’s programmes in government are designed to lift as many women as possible out of poverty and squalor

“The recent appointment of Dr. Betta Edu as a member of the All Progressives Congress,APC, National Reconciliation Committee led by Governor Mala Buni Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee,CECPC, and her appointment as member of the National Health Sector Reforms Committee by President Buhari, is as result of your socketing the state to the centre and your keen interest for the inclusion of women in governance, which you have clearly demonstrated with the appointment of women into key positions within the State”.

She said the recommendation of Dr. Betta Edu by Governor Ayade to be part of the two national committees, is no doubt a square peg in a square hole.

“Dr Edu is a promoter of peace and a grassroots mobilizer especially the women, and that eminently qualifies her for any national and international engagement, considering her accessibility, humility and undiluted loyalty

“As a youth-friendly and gender-sensitive Governor whose passion for service to humanity is unrivalled, Your Excellency, you deserve my unwavering support and prayers to finish strong” Egwu concluded..
