A spanner in the wheels of the Amaju Pinnick led Nigeria Football Federation board was thrown Friday following the decision of a Federal High Court in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State to sack the board and declare, Chris Giwa as president of the football body.

Justice Musa Haruna Kurya, had granted the prayers of Mr Yahaya Adama and Senator Obinna Ogba to relist the case which among others had sought to nullify the Warri General Assembly and subsequent elective congress that brought Mr Amaju Pinnick as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

In his ruling, Justice Kurya also sustained all the previous orders of the court, thereby effectively making Mr. Chris Giwa the head of NFF until the final determination of the suit on April 30th, 2016.

However, in a swift reaction to the judgement in Jos, the Nigeria Football Federation moved to file an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a motion for a stay-of-execution against the judgement of the Jos High Court, which on Friday decided to re-list a case brought by Ambassador Chris Giwa against the validly –elected NFF administration of Amaju Melvin Pinnick.

However, since an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a stay-of-execution has been filed, on the same day as the judgement, the status quo remains.
