The Federal Government has concluded plans to establish a military and paramilitary clothing and accessories factory in the country.
The factory to be located in Kaduna State, is Private Partnership Programme (PPP) between the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria(DICON) and Sur Corporatewear of the Republic of Turkey. When fully established, the clothing factory is expected to provide indigenous support for adequate kitting and equipping of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
It would also help in creating job opportunities for the teeming youth in the country as well as conserving our foreign exchange.
Receiving the Full Business Case (FBC) Compliance Certificate from the Director General and the Management of the Infrastructures Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), in Abuja, Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali (retd), said when completed, the venture is expected to sufficiently meet the accoutrement needs of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other uniformed paramilitary organisations.
