The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta Central senatorial district, Ovie Ughwanagho, has raised the alarm that the original result sheets for the area are missing.
Ughwanagho who hurriedly addressed journalists in Orogun, alleged that the ploy further confirmed alleged plans to rig Delta Central election.
He said the development “is totally unacceptable to us,” insisting that any attempt to isolate Delta Central senatorial election will be resisted.
“Any attempt to make the election an isolated one will not be acceptable to SDP and I believe to other opposition parties.
“Those that stole the original sheets want the election to be postponed so that Delta Central will be isolated to enable them rig the elections.

“We have briefed the Commissioner of Police and he said elections will not hold without the original materials. We want Nigerians to know what is happening. We want free and fair elections because it is only free and fair elections that can reflect the aspirations of the people,” he said
But the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state insisted that no electoral material had been stolen.
Head of Media and Publicity of INEC office in Asaba, Mr. Bukola Ojeme, told our correspondent that materials were still arriving from Abuja, as at the time of filing this report, adding that they would be sent to the various areas immediately.
Ojeme said the original result sheet for Delta Central senatorial district might be among the materials being expected.
