The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has announced the appointment of new commissioners of police for Lagos, Oyo, Kwara and Anambra states.
The IGP also announced the appointment of 18, new Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), to man various zones across the country.
The IGP, who made this known in a statement, said the appointment and redeployment of the officers was with immediate effect.
The statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, charged them to discharge their duties diligently and professionally according to the laws of the land.
Under the new arrangement, former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC) boss, AIG Ibrahim Lamorde, is now in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau. AIG Wilson A. Inalegwu now moves to Zone 9, Umuahia while AIG Abdul Dahiru Danwawo has been redeployed to Maritime with AIG Adeyemi O. Ogunjemilusi going Staff NIPPS. Similarly, AIG Maurice A. Yusuf takes over at Research and Planning while AIG Murtala Mani,heads Force CID with AIG Tijani Baba taking over Zone 7, Abuja.
Other appointment sees AIG Dibal Yakadi moved to Zone 5, Benin, AIG Haruna Huzi Mshelia, to Zone 3, Yola while AIG Mohammed Mustapha takes over Zone 10, Sokoto. AIG Musa A. Kimo will take charge in Zone 6, Calabar, AIG Adeleye Olusola Oyebade, Zone 11, Osogbo, AIG Basen Dapiya Gwana, Zone 12, Bauchi, with AIG Karma Hosea Hassan going to Staff College, Jos.
Other appointments are AIG Folawiyo David posted to Training & Development, AIG Zana Ibrahim, taking command at POLAC, Kano while AIG Chris Ezike will be in charge of Zone 4, Makurdi with AIG Moses A. Jitiboh, taking charge at Investment, FHQ.
The newly appointed commissioners are Mu’azu Zubairu for Lagos State; Ahmed Iliyasu, Ogun State;Mohammed Wakili, Kano State; Austin Iwero Agbonlahor, Cross River State and Damian Chukwu, Borno State.
In a similar development, Sumonu Abdulmalik goes to Yobe command; Asuquo Amba, Ekiti command; Abiodun Ige, Osun command while Ibrahim Sabo will be in command in Niger State. Alkasim Sanusi has been taken to Taraba State, Garba M. Mukaddas, Adamawa State; Omololu Bishi retains his post in Benue command; Bola Longe, Nasarawa command; Isaac Akinmoyede, Plateau command; Aminu I. Saleh, Bayelsa command and Adeleke Yinka, Delta command.
Others are Bashir Makama, Akwa-Ibom command; Awosola Awotunde, Ebonyi command; Belel Usman, Rivers command; Bello Makwashi, Gombe command; Abdulrahman Ahmed, Kaduna command and Bala Ciroma, FCT command
Akeem Busari is in charge at Kogi command, Galadinchi Dasuki, Imo command;
Suleiman Balarabe, Enugu command; Dandaura Mustafa, Anambra command; Etim Ene Okon, Abia command; Ibrahim Kaoje, Sokoto command, Celestine Okoye; Zamfara command while Garba Danjuma is in Kebbi command.
The rest include Undie Andie, Ondo command;
Olukolu Sina, Oyo command; Ali Janga, Bauchi command; Rabiu Ladodo, Jigawa command and
Buba Sanusi, Katsina command.
Those appointed in acting capacity include Egbetokun Kayode for Kwara command, and Odumosu Akeem for Edo command
