In a vibrant celebration of innovation, resilience, and community, Nigerian cryptocurrency exchange platform Jeroid marked its 8th anniversary with The Jeriversary.

Held in Lagos, the event brought together fintech leaders, partners, crypto enthusiasts, and cultural icons to reflect on Jeroid’s journey and envision its future.

The event had in attendance the Special Assistant to the President on Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr. Ayo Adeagbo and Jeroid’s newest brand ambassador and popular music star Zlatan Ibile.

Founded in 2017 by CEO Jeremiah Mayowa, Jeroid has become a leading Nigerian crypto platform. Key milestones include the May 2021 launch of its app (version 1) and Lagos headquarters; June 2022 national expansion; August 2023 release of app version 2 with personalized wallets and utility bill payments; exceeding 47,000 monthly trades by December 2023, reaching over 250,000 to date; and becoming the first Nigerian crypto company to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification in March 2024, followed by successful recertification in March 2025.

CEO Jeremiah Mayowa, In his keynote address, Mayowa expressed gratitude to users, partners, and the Nigerian youth, stating, “Jeroid is more than just a company; it is a movement that believes Nigeria, and by extension Africa, can lead, innovate, and set the standard.”

A highlight of The Jeriversary was a panel session titled “The Future of Crypto in Africa,” featuring industry experts including Obinna Iwuno, President of SiBAN (Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria), Oluwasegun Rosemani, Founder of the Naija Bitcoin Conference, Hassan Eniola, COO of Jeroid Ltd, Damilare Ogundare, Founder of HabbyFX Academy, Mr. Obinna Egbuniwe, Senior Manager with the Fintech and Innovation Office, Lagos Zonal Office (SEC).

As Jeroid celebrates eight years of achievements, the company remains focused on the future. With plans to expand its services and continue innovating, Jeroid aims to further solidify its position as a leader in the African fintech landscape.
