Cross River Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, said his administration has wiped out 16 camps used by miscreants.

The governor made this known at the UJ Esuene Stadium during an endorsement rally organised by the Cross River South Consultative Forum for President Tinubu and Governor Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said only one camp was left and assured that by end of this month, there would be no camp in the state.

“We have taken up the challenge of insecurity and we can sleep with both eyes closed. When we came into office, I think we had over 16 camps; today, we have wiped them out and only one is left and their deadline has passed as of June 30.

“All those who are remaining have come out for amnesty and we are making sure they are properly integrated into the society and will live a normal life like others,” Otu said.
