…Hosted to loyalty walk in Ede
The Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, last Saturday, solicited for support for All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2026 Osun governorship election in Ede, the hometown of incumbent governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Oyebamij, who is a leading governorship aspirant, joined the kinsmen of Adeleke, who is a leader of the APC in Ede, ex-Osun Speaker, Adejare Bello and Hon. Ghaffar Ajani, in a loyalty walk, in Ede.
Addressing the enthusiastic leaders and members of the party, Oyebamiji expressed confidence in the ability and capacity of the party to unseat the incumbent governor.
He lauded the leadership and members of the party for their resoluteness which had helped to build a formidable structure capable of delivering the party in 2026, just as he reaffirmed his competence to administer the affairs of the state if given the opportunity.
“We are here today to seek your support for the realisation of my ambition and I want to assure you that by God’s grace, if I become the governor come 2026, I will not disappoint you.
“We are surprised at the turnout of people in Ede. We have a lot of people here, despite the fact that this is the home town of the incumbent governor. I am happy because we have committed APC members that came out and this is an encouragement for me to push more. The summary is that come August 08, 2026, APC is going to defeat PDP in Ede and other parts of the state.
“My message to our party members is that we must continue to work together in unity. This is a friendly match. All of us are qualified but we must do it in a way that we will work together to deliver Osun for APC in 2026”, Oyebamiji added.
Oyebamiji used the visit to dispel the insinuations making the round that AMBO Movement had appointed those that would work with him as cabinet members if elected governor, stressing that “this is a blatant lie.”
“I want to dispel the rumour going the round that I’ve already chosen some of the people I will appoint as cabinet members if I become the governor. That is a lie. I didn’t appoint anyone and I’ve not spoken about such with anybody and nobody discussed anything of such with me. This is a white lie from the pit of the hell. All that are supporting us truly believe in the cause and they are formidable and resilient”, he added.
Also speaking at the APC party secretariat, Oke-Gada, Ede, Hon. Ghaffar Ajani, who was the brain behind the “Loyalty Walk,” said the walk was aimed at mobilising support for APC and Oyebamiji to emerge as the candidate for the 2026 election.
He noted that the event underscores the popularity and wide acceptability of Oyebamiji and the momentum behind his campaign just as it reinforces the confidence of the people in his ability to lead Osun State to electoral victory in 2026.
He equally expressed delight over the massive turnout of members of APC and residents of Ede community despite the fact that the incumbent governor is from the town.
According to him: “I am glad with the large turn out of party faithful here today, it reinforces the love the people of Osun have for our great party and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. The turn out also reiterate the confidence our people have in the capacity and competence of Oyebamiji to lead our party to electoral success in the governorship election of August 8th, 2026.”
Also speaking on the occasion, immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico and two-term Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Ambassador Adejare Bello, assured the readiness of the leaders and members of the party to work for APC victory in the federal constituency.
He spoke brilliantly about Oyebamiji’s good track-records, reaffirming the party leaders’ commitment to work assiduously for the return of APC to Abere Government House in 2026.
