The female football team of Methodist High School, Owo, popularly known as the MHSO Queens, has booked a place in the finals of the maiden edition of the Female Olowo’s Football Cup after edging out their counterparts from New Church Grammar School, Owo, with a narrow 1–0 victory.

The tightly contested semi-final match remained goalless in the first half despite spirited efforts from both teams. The New Church Grammar School girls, in particular, gave a solid performance, effectively neutralising the attacking threats of the MHSO Queens.

However, the tide shifted early in the second half as the MHSO girls came out with renewed determination. Dominating possession and piling pressure on their opponents, the Queens eventually broke the deadlock in the 51st minute (6th minute of the second half). Team captain, Sunday Kikelomo, struck a powerful shot from just outside the goal area to beat the New Church goalkeeper and put her side ahead.

Despite missing several scoring opportunities, the MHSO Queens held on to their lead until the final whistle was blown, sealing a hard-fought 1–0 win and a spot in the tournament’s grand finale.
