A member of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu has appealed to the people of Abia to ensure they return Governor Alex Otti to power in 2027, stating that the Governor deserves a second tenure because of his good performance.
Hon Akachukwu made the appeal when he received residents of Umuagbai, a suburb of Aba who came to thank him for donating an electric transformer and attracting other dividends of democracy to their area.
The lawmaker said Otti has not only changed the narrative, but also given new impetus to the governance of the state.
He said the Governor has done in two years, what could not be arrived in the state for over 16 years by previous administrations.
Akachukwu said by reconstructing Port Harcourt abandoned over the years, Otti has opened up a lot of areas along that corridor, including Umuagbai which was impassible before now.
The Labour Party (LP) lawmaker told the people that Otti has several developmental projects at hand which could not be finished in his first tenure in office, adding that it is only when they give him a second mandate he could accomplish them.
He promised to always remain a good representative of the people and urged them to continue to support the present administration in the state.
Leader of the residents, Herbert Torti said they came to expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker for his quality representation.
He said the area had been in darkness for the past 16 years due to lack of electricity transformer and commended Hon Akachukwu for providing them with 500 KVA transformer.
Another member of the delegation commended Hon Akachukwu for doling out millions of naira for entrepreneurship grant in Ogbor Community of Aba.
The initiative he said will go a long way in empowering youths and entrepreneurs, providing necessary financial support to launch and expand their businesses.
He equally lauded the lawmaker’s efforts in helping to keep the city of Aba clean by providing refuse receptacles in strategic locations of Aba.
They promised their unalloyed support for Governor Otti and Hon Akachukwu in the years ahead.
