Former Presidential Aspirant, Labour Party (LP), Leader and Convener, Rescue Movement for New Nigeria (RMNN), Mr. Faduri Oluwadare Joseph has said that those politicians defecting from one political party to another lack principles, integrity, and their defection has no political value in 2027 election.

Joseph described such politicians as having political ambition without purpose, adding that Nigerians will be shocked at the 2027 general elections because the election will be decided by hungry Nigerians who would vote for a new leadership both at the federal and State leadership.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the former presidential Aspirant said, “Let the defections continue. PDP members may continue to flock to APC in droves, but here’s a truth many fail to acknowledge: each of those defectors carries only one vote. This next election will not be won by political chess moves—it will be won by the people. Ordinary Nigerians will decide the outcome. Not power-hungry defectors. Not backdoor deals.

“In any sane nation, no reasonable politician would proudly join a party that has inflicted so much hardship on its citizens. But in Nigeria, defection has become a sport, not a matter of principle. It’s a clear sign of a political class with no character, no ideology, and no integrity.

“How can anyone with a conscience align with a party that has turned Nigeria upside down—one that has left our people in pain, poverty, and uncertainty? The answer is simple: for many of these politicians, power is the only goal. Governance, nation-building, and public service mean nothing to them. What we see today is politics without morality, ambition without purpose.

“But that era is coming to an end. 2027 will mark the rise of a new political generation—a generational shift from the old to the young. We, the younger generation, are ready. We are agile, tech-savvy, mentally equipped, and purpose-driven. We are not in this to enrich ourselves but to restore Nigeria’s greatness.

“We are not running for power; we are running for purpose. The Labour Party’s (LP) 2027 presidential ticket will not be handed out lightly—it will be fought for vigorously. While the party may seem disorganized today, let it be clear: before 2027, we will rebuild and reposition the Labour Party into a force ready to contest and win the elections.

“It might seem as though the center is not holding, but it will. And when it does, Nigerians will finally have a real choice in 2027—a choice beyond the recycled failures of the past.

“To the political class stuck in the past: 2027 will not be business as usual. It will not be decided by rigging or outdated tactics. It will be decided by the Nigerian people. And we are mobilizing—state by state, ward by ward, voice by voice—until every Nigerian understands that their vote is their power. Let this be a warning and a promise: a new Nigeria is rising”.
