The National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN),

Ambrose Igwekanma Ezeh has thrown his weight behind the Geneith Health Competition an innovative initiative targeting malaria among Nigerian youth. He made this endorsement during a courtesy visit to Geneith Pharmaceuticals.

Also present were Managing Director/CEO of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Umenwa Emmanuel; CEO of CEOAfrica, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor; and key members of the Geneith team, including Udeh Judith (Principal Manager, Marketing), Okechukwu Simeon (AGM, Sales), and Bimbo Bowoto (AGM, Sales & Marketing) ball of whom are committed to the anti-malaria initiative.

Ezeh emphasized the need for a united front in tackling malaria, stating, “The fight against malaria is a collective effort. It demands the involvement of government, private organizations, and communities to develop innovative and impactful solutions.” His call to action highlighted the alarming trend that 95 per cent of students visiting tertiary institution health centers are diagnosed with malaria.

Echoing this urgency, Mr. Umenwa Emmanuel outlined Geneith Pharmaceuticals’ dedication to the competition: “We’re funding this initiative to support the national malaria fight. Youth and students are central to this mission they are the drivers of meaningful change.”

Ilobanafor lauded the initiative as a groundbreaking moment in youth engagement. “This competition is about empowering young people to lead the charge against malaria. They are innovative, energetic, and capable of driving societal transformation.”

He further pointed out that many Nigerian students frequently seek malaria treatment, signaling a need for sustained, youth-centered awareness and prevention. “The competition aims to raise malaria ambassadors students who will champion prevention and education in their communities,” he explained.

Ilobanafor emphasized the initiative’s scale and significance: “With a major financial and strategic investment, this is the largest health competition of its kind in Africa. We urge patriotic Nigerians to follow Geneith’s example and contribute to this crucial cause.”

He concluded by thanking Geneith Pharmaceuticals for their sponsorship and acknowledged the support of Coatal Forte Softgel, a key partner in making the initiative possible.
