Ogunbadejo Olawale, the man who was captured dumping waste on the roadside, has been arrested by officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.

Olawale’s arrest was revealed by the state Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who shared the update in a statement on X.

Wahab disclosed that Olawale was apprehended after being caught red-handed dumping refuse illegally in public.

Olawale’s arrest was a result of credible surveillance and tip-offs from concerned members of the community.

“This is part of our continuous effort to enforce environmental laws and keep Lagos clean.

“The suspect was caught in the act, and he will be prosecuted according to the state’s environmental regulations.

“The arrest is a strong reminder that we are serious about stopping illegal dumping. Residents must know that there are consequences for environmental abuse.
